Tots safest in rear facing seats untill age 2! 3/21

The Today Show just released some new guidelines for car seat safety

1st major change is children under 2 years of age should remain in a rear facing seat even after they have moved from their infant carrier to a convertible car seat
-it helps protect their head, shoulder and backs even longer if an accident were to occur

2nd major change is that children under 4'9 who have outgrown their convertible car seat should be in a booster seat until aproximately the age of 8-12 and are over 4'9" or fit the seat belt correctly

3rd major change is that children should remain in a back seat until the age of 13.

These new recommendations are from a medical advice group
The American Academy of Pediatrics and a federal agency
